Program Policy
At Cindy Yang Dance Academy of Canada, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, objective, and culturally respectful environment in all aspects of our Chinese dance education. Our programs are designed to ensure that courses remain free from prejudice, discrimination, and focused on the artistic and technical elements of dance. Here, we outline our principles and commitments to uphold these values.

1
Objectivity and Inclusivity in Education
Our courses are created to provide a fact and skill-focused education in Chinese dance. Instruction is grounded in established technical standards, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive and unbiased understanding of Chinese dance. Historical and cultural contexts are presented objectively, with an emphasis on a deeper appreciation for the art form without promoting any specific belief systems or ideologies.

We maintain a clear distinction between cultural education and the promotion of belief systems. We do not endorse or advocate for any religion, ideology, or other unrelated system. Our goals is to provide a neutral and inclusive learning environment for students to explore Chinese dance solely as an art form.
2
Respectful Representation of Cultural Influences
Our courses reflect a deep respect for the diverse cultural influences that shape dance as a global art form. While emphasizing the authenticity of Chinese dance, we also incorporate elements from other dance styles, such as ballet, contemporary, and lyrical dance, to provide a well-rounded educational experience. We are committed to ensuring that all cultural representations are accurate, respectful and free from stereotypes or misrepresentation.

We strive to prevent any forms of discrimination, and by focusing on technique and artistic expression, we avoid any content that may be perceived as disrespectful. Our instructors are trained to approach cultural topics with sensitivity and balance and to establish an environment where all students feel valued and respected.
3
Encouraging Respect and Appreciation for Diversity
While our primary focus is on Chinese dance, we encourage our students to interact with and respect other dance forms and cultural practices. Our programs emphasize the importance of diversity, promoting openness and inclusivity. We remind our students to approach all dance traditions without bias or favouritism, fostering a broader perspective on the performing arts.
4
Accountability and Continuous Improvement
We are dedicated to upholding and regularly reviewing these principles and practices to guarantee they align with our commitment to inclusivity, respect, and objectivity. Feedback from students, instructors, and the community is welcomed and used to improve our programs. By adhering to these principles, Cindy Yang Dance Academy of Canada ensures that our courses remain fact-based and free of prejudice.
